“Diamonds in the Rough” 
my new 5-story mural at PS392 Bronx Delta Elementary School celebrates the brilliance that lives within every child. a young girl digging into the ground and unearthing diamonds is a metaphor for curiosity, imagination, and discovery. Each diamond shines out with passions like art, music, dance, science, and reading — the treasures that emerge when children explore the world around them.

Inspired by the school’s mascot, “the Delta Diamonds”, I wanted the mural art to reflect the belief that every student is a diamond in the making — full of potential, resilience, and light and a reminder that by nurturing curiosity and creativity, young minds can uncover their unique gems — and shine brightly in their own way. ✨
